Smarter packaging starts with smarter choices. At Smart Packaging Solutions, part of the VPK Group, sustainability is a core focus. In 2025, throughout the entire group, we took vital steps to improve the efficiency and sustainability of our production processes. From circular raw materials to energy and water savings – our latest sustainability report shows how our strategy translates into tangible results.
Some of 2025’s most exciting highlights
- 99% renewable materials: our main raw materials are organic and renewable.
- 41% renewable energy: we’re using more and more green energy. And are well on the way to reaching 50% by 2030.
- 59% less landfill waste: we’re recycling more and managing waste more effectively. As a result, far less waste is going to landfill than in 2024.
Project in the spotlight: reducing water use by 27%
At all our plants, we make solid board packaging from recycled paper. And every day, we look for ways to use energy and water more efficiently. For instance, our plant in Loenen, has cut its daily water consumption by as much as 27% thanks to targeted improvements in the production process.
